I
come from
Dortmund in Germany, and lived in Sylt and Hamburg for 7 years before
moving to Australia. Brian and I met while travelling overseas more
than 20 years ago. The first time we came travelling through the
Daintree was in 1981.
We came back three times
to the Daintree, before the track to Bloomfield was opened in 1984.
Brian suggested buying land here when we were living in Darwin and
in 1994 we bought a block of Daintree rainforest land, covered mostly
with 50 year old rainforest regrowth. The block borders the Daintree
National Park, has a creek and is less than 2 km from the beach,
where we launch our boat to go fishing on the reef.
In 1996 we bought the
house ‘next’ door, which seemed to be perfect as a B
& B. So here we are, now in the fourth year of operation. Brian
has improved the house beautifully over the years, and guests feel
very welcome and relaxed here, and enjoy experiencing the feel of
our place.
I
enjoy working in the gardens and deliver fresh organically grown,
Asian type produce, garlic chives and tropical heliconia flowers
to local businesses. I am a qualified chef and have a strong catering
management background. In my spare time I love snorkelling and sunbathing
at the beach at Cow Bay.
Brian is an electrician
by trade with a vast experience in domestic, construction, mining,
various type of power generation plants, theatre installations in
Australia and overseas. He loves going out in the boat fishing,
and we get to eat some really fresh fish!!!
Over the years we have
lived in Brisbane, Rockhampton, Darwin, Townsville and Cow Bay.
Brian is from Ballarat and was a long time resident of Melbourne
and Sydney.

With our local knowledge
as a background, we are happy to assist you as best as we can to
experience this part of North Queensland, and get the most out of
your holiday with us
Looking forward to meeting
you
